We posted a blog a few months back about toxic substances and chemicals that are banned in Europe but not here. Parabens and Phthalates are two of those substances that are banned or restricted in many other countries but not here. AND they are found in your commercial deodorant! Why do these two toxic substances cause concern and alarm to the point they are restricted in at least 28 other countries but not here in the US?

Parabens are used a preservative substance in beauty products, including your deodorant. Parabens are also endocrine disruptors: this means they act like estrogen in the body. This disruption has been linked to early puberty and hormonal cancers such as ovarian and cervical cancer. Parabens have also been found in almost all breast cancer tissue.

Phthalates are also everywhere. They can be found in plastic packaging and in fragrance for beauty products and your deodorant. Phthalates are found in all chemically made fragrances and may not be listed as phthalates specifically, but rather listed as “fragrance” or not at all. Phthalates have been linked to breast cancer, asthma, ADHD, neurological development issues, low IQ and reproductive issues.

These are just two of the toxic substances found in your commercial deodorant that other countries find dangerous enough to restrict or ban. Until the US follows their lead, we need to take charge of our own health and make better choices. Evelyn Kay can help. Our deodorant is 100% natural, safe, and free from toxic chemicals.
