Last week, The CVS chain of stores announced that they would be removing parabens, phthalates and formaldehyde donors from their personal beauty lines. This is huge news and further evidence that there is a shift in what people are looking for when it comes to what they are applying to their bodies.
Toxic substances that were once deemed safe are now being linked to breast cancer, reproductive cancers and issues, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, other reproductive issues and even developmental and learning disabilities. Just think, lead paint was considered safe once as was cigarette smoking and we now know those are extremely toxic to our bodies.
In our past blog, “Banned in Europe But Safe For You?” blog, we talked about how the beauty industry is really not independently regulated: they do their own testing and report those results to the FDA. It is encouraging to see CVS take the concerns of customers and push to remove toxic substances from their products.
What is most encouraging, however, is the fact that so many people are demanding change and realizing that what we put on our bodies has a direct effect on our health. People are asking questions and the beauty industry is starting to give better answers and alternatives.
Evelyn Kay has ALWAYS been free from toxic substances, free from GMO’s and all organic! There is a shift and the tide is turning to healthy products like Evelyn Kay.
